In Memory

Earlier this year on 10th Feb We lost Jasper (pictured above and
below) He was a TB ex race horse. He was beautiful, and a real
gentle giant! When we first got him he was underweight and
unloved by his last owner. And once we had him, he was
bullied by people at the yard we were on, Saying  he was anorexic
ill and 'not a happy bunny' People called him and old nag and
said that if we did get him to out on weight he would be to
much for us to handle. And he even had the RSPCA called on him
by a group of two faced idiots!
However he did put on weight, and never changed his ways,
he was still as gentle and loving and kind as ever.
I remember riding him down the road bareback and riding
him back to his field like that to. He was always a slow horse
and used to walk around at his own slow speed.
Then Two Years ago on 1st January 2014 Jasper was Shot
in the knee, The injury was very serious and he had to be
kept in a small space for a month nearly to rest up his
poorly leg. The vet told us that if the injury was a few inches
lower then it would not have been treatable. The vet told
us that the injury was the result of a firearm and it is
believed he was shot earlier that morning or the night before.
He made a full recovery, but sadly started to lose weight
at the start of this year.
Just one week before he passed he was brought out for his
last time in the yard (none of us knowing that) and he finally
heard what he has been wanted to hear all his life with us.
Someone who was in the yard with us said "Now that's that
you call a proper horse!" A complement that I'm sure Jasper
Appreciated. He was a much loved old boy, by humans and
other horses alike.
Miss you so much Jasper Carat!
